The heart of J. David has always been the bridal moment. Three decades of engagements, vow exchanges and anniversary milestones have shaped the way we design every piece — with the patience of an heirloom and the soul of a hand-crafted original.

At fifteen, founder Joel David made his first rings — tulip rings, in 1987 — and spent the years that followed working under some of Oklahoma’s most renowned artists and craftsmen, learning the finer points of repair and fanning an appetite for custom work.
In 1993 Joel married Kendra. The next year they started a jewelry business out of their own house, with three rings and five hundred dollars between them.
The first storefront came in 1995 — two hundred square feet rented inside a tanning salon called Golden Tan, at 121st and Elm in Broken Arrow. Eight hundred square feet at 61st and Aspen followed in 1997. In 2000 they bought an old mechanic shop. The week of September 11, 2001, they moved into a freestanding showroom of four thousand square feet at 613 North Aspen.
That is still the Broken Arrow door you walk through today. South Tulsa opened in 2014, Brookside in 2022. Seven years from three rings to a building of our own — and every year since has been spent at the bench.
Kendra Wiland is the other half of that beginning. Co-founder, here since the first three rings, and almost always behind the scenes — keeping the house organized and everything in it moving forward. Where J. David stands today is in large part her doing.
Greek · noun · ah‑GAH‑pay“a selfless love that desires what is best for the other person, without any thought of reward”
J. David began with that simple philosophy, founded on customer service, and it has never changed:
We do not sell products. We sell love.

Every anniversary has its gem. The jewelers' list year by year, beside the traditional gifts, and how to give one so it is remembered.

Every month has its gem, and some have three. What each one is, what it has meant to the people who wore it, and which ones are sturdy enough for every day.

What 14k really means, why white gold needs rhodium, how platinum wears, and what to know before choosing a tungsten or titanium band.

The setting decides how a ring lives: how it catches the light, what it catches on, and how it wears. Thirteen styles, and how to choose among them.

Cut, color, clarity and carat. What each one means, which one your eye actually sees, and how to read the report that comes with a diamond.

Karat is a fraction, not a grade. Here is what that means for the chain that snapped, the single earring, and the ring nobody wears — and when a piece is worth more than the gold in it.

One vivid gem, gold shaped like sculpture, and a stack chosen on purpose — the looks defining summer 2026, and how to wear them so the piece leads and you stay yourself.

From budget to band, the seven decisions that shape an engagement ring — taken in order, the way we walk through them at the case.

A custom ring travels from a conversation to a sketch, a render, a wax and then metal. Here is each stage, and the moment at every one where you say yes.

Platinum, white gold, yellow gold, or rose gold? How each one wears, what each one asks of you, and how to choose the ring you will have on every day.
Three showrooms across Tulsa, one family since 1994. Bring your questions, or just come and look.

Every heirloom begins with a story. Hear from the families who let us be a part of theirs.
Katelyn helped me resize and refresh my wedding ring. She was knowledgeable, professional, and incredibly sweet. She made the experience easy and enjoyable, and I couldn’t be happier with the results. I highly recommend asking for Katelyn
Had a fantastic experience at J David! Bought an engagement ring last year and a wedding band this year. Maelei and Susan were especially super helpful and patient with us and found us the perfect matches!
One big request I had for Hayley was to make sure any leftover gold from the ring was returned to me. Not only did she make sure I got the gold, but Scott even turned it into a small pendant!
